This interactive textile installation was developed for Critical Experiences, a research-based course centered on developing creative experiences through both traditional and experimental research methods. My focus for this piece was memory and physicality, and the role photography plays in this. I explored the differences between physical and digital photographs and emphasized community involvement by sourcing submitted images from the public. Using a labor-intensive photo transfer process, I embedded these images onto fabric and created “playing card”-style inserts that contained fragments of my research. This tactile, participatory work was featured in the IMA/ITP Spring Show.
